Requirements

General inspection of the visible parts of the principal building: no apparent zoning, construction or health violations and no open permits
If violations cannot be fixed before closing, the applicant certifies they will be cured by a set date and gets a temporary certificate; $100 per day fine if not cured by then
Not required if the principal building will not be occupied (submit a certification to the Construction Official)
Smoke/CO/fire extinguisher certificate is a separate inspection (see fire certificate)

2A:10BC fire extinguisher mounted on the kitchen wall, within 10 feet of the kitchen and not behind any door (Township page still lists it)
At least one smoke detector on each level of the home
One carbon monoxide detector within 10 feet of any bedroom (plug-in or battery)
