- Borough of Harrington Park Building Department (Construction Department), with the Harrington Park Fire Prevention Bureau inspecting smoke and CO alarms

- Property used as zoned or approved (one family, two family, etc.)
- No sump pump or unauthorized water connection into the sanitary sewer
- All open construction permits inspected, approved and closed
- Sidewalks, if installed, in good condition
- No interior double-key lock on the main entry/exit door
- At least one handrail on stairs with 4 or more risers
- No hazardous or imminent-danger conditions on a general visual inspection
- Pools need an approved barrier with gates that open out, self-close and latch
- Smoke detector on each level including the basement, and within 10 feet of all bedroom doors (not in attics, crawl spaces or right by the kitchen); battery or interconnected electric
- At least one carbon monoxide alarm within 10 feet of all bedroom doors (battery, plug-in or combination)
- Fire extinguisher (the form title still lists it, but the checklist gives no extinguisher requirement)
