Requirements
  • Inspection showing the dwelling is fit for human habitation under the New Jersey State Housing Code and complies with all other Borough ordinances
  • Dwelling must meet the Borough occupancy standards (minimum floor area per occupant and per sleeping room)
  • Fee paid to the Borough Clerk when the application is filed; not refundable
  • Smoke alarm / carbon monoxide alarm certificate for the sale (see fire certificate)

Certificate of occupancy reinspection, each$25
Valid for
The certificate applies only to the occupancy for which it is issued. No new fee is charged for an inspection within three months of a previous paid application for the same unit.
