- Requirements
- Property taxes must be current before applying
- Resale inspection is limited to zoning compliance and the exterior of the property under the Property Maintenance Code
- Separate smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm application and inspection (Fire Prevention)
- Supplemental Information form; application lists number of bedrooms, buyer name and names and ages of all occupants
- Heat certification by a licensed HVAC technician or licensed plumber, issued no more than 6 months before the application
- Wood burning stove or fireplace chimney certification by a CSIA certified chimney sweep, if applicable
- Gas fireplace certification, if applicable
- Well water certification by a state certified lab and septic certification (NJDEP format report) if applicable; well and septic reports go to the Freehold Township Health Department for review
- Fire sprinkler report and elevator certification, if applicable
- No open zoning or building permits or zoning violations; no transfer of title with unabated zoning violations

Resale/Rental CO, detached single family dwelling $150 Resale/Rental CO, attached multi-family dwelling (condos, townhomes, apartments), per unit $75 R/R-CO reinspection, after the first free reinspection $50.00 Surcharge for an R/R-CO application not submitted through the online portal $15 - Timing
- Applications are processed within 15 business days; inspections are scheduled once the application is complete. The smoke/CO certificate and the CCO are picked up 36 to 72 hours after a passed inspection.

- 90 days. Applications without a CCO within 120 days of the first inspection are closed and need a new application and fee.

- Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms per the Borough's posted Residential Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Requirements documents
- Portable fire extinguisher (form still lists it; the Borough page says extinguishers are still required by local ordinance regardless of state law)
