Requirements
  • Housing inspection by the Upper Freehold Township Housing Inspector
  • Any housing violations must be corrected before the certificate is issued
  • For homes on a private well: well water requirements set by the Hamilton Township Health Department, which issues a certificate of compliance
  • Smoke detector on each floor including the basement and outside bedroom doors; ten-year sealed battery unless AC powered interconnected
  • Carbon monoxide detectors in the vicinity of all bedrooms
  • Residential ABC fire extinguisher, no larger than 10 lb, within 10 feet of the kitchen (form still lists it)
