- Requirements
- Records check that there are no open construction permits; any work done without a permit must be permitted, inspected and closed before the resale inspection appointment
- Visual inspection by the Construction Official (4 inch house numbers within 10 feet of the road, railings, washer/dryer discharge and metal dryer vent, no garbage disposals, working HVAC, garage door and sheetrock, roof, stove anti-tip device, plumbing, covered electrical and GFI protection, clean yard, pool fence code)
- Chimney caps, and a Level 1 inspection by a certified chimney sweep for wood burning fireplaces
- Millstone Township Fire Department smoke/CO certificate before the final COI is issued
- Homes on well or septic: the Health Officer reviews the water supply and septic (septic pumped within the last three years or less than five years old)
- Certificate of Construction Records Closure (CRC) required before the sale of any residential structure

- Submit the written application at least ten business days before the change of ownership; the Township says to allow about twenty business days to complete the certificate process. Permits for any unpermitted work must be filed, inspected and closed before a resale inspection can be booked.

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and portable fire extinguisher compliance per N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19 (code still lists the extinguisher)
- Fire Department certificate is needed before the final COI is issued
