Requirements
  • Certificate of Housing Inspection application signed by the owner, buyer or agent, with seller and buyer details, number of bedrooms and occupants
  • Inspection by a municipal inspector; all violations corrected before occupancy unless written arrangements are made
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detector inspection is done with the housing inspection (extra fee)
  • Smoke detector on each floor (Code 11-5)
  • Close all UCC permits (listed as a violation item on the form)
  • Fire extinguisher (form still lists it as a violation item)
  • By signing for a sale, the owner or agent attests that no adjoining property is owned by the same person that may require a formal subdivision
