- Residential Certificate of Compliance application, plus the smoke alarm, CO alarm and fire extinguisher compliance application for 1 and 2 family homes (both forms, total $95.00)
- Sale of Property page with buyer and seller details
- Long Branch Sewerage Authority print out showing the sewer bill paid to the current quarter
- Tax Office print out showing taxes paid to the current quarter
- 'No open building permits' form signed off by the Long Branch Building Department
- All forms delivered in person (originals only; no fax or mail)
- The unit must be unoccupied for the inspection (City Ordinance 262-25(I))
- Inspection items include: clean and sanitary unit, trash containers with lids, street numbers at least 3 inches, working doors, windows and locks, handrails on stairs with four or more risers, no plumbing leaks, heat and hot water, screens May 1 to October 1
- Fire extinguisher 2A-10B:C, no more than 10 lbs., mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen (form still lists it)
- Lead safe certification for pre-1978 rental properties (rentals only)

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Ten-year sealed battery smoke alarms on each level, inside each bedroom and within 10 feet of each bedroom (not required where 110 volt alarms or a low voltage fire alarm system is installed)
- Low voltage alarm systems need annual certification from a licensed electrician or certified fire alarm contractor
- Carbon monoxide alarms (battery, hardwired or plug-in) in the area of the sleeping rooms
- Fire extinguisher rated 2A-10B:C, no more than 10 lbs., mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen in the path of egress, tagged or newly bought with receipt (form still lists it)
