Requirements

Borough inspection of the home for compliance with all Borough ordinances
Applications for sales must include a current survey of the property
List all people who will occupy the home (each adult may need an affidavit as a member of a single family unit), school-age and pre-school children, and pets
Certificate of Smoke Alarm, Carbon Monoxide Alarm and Portable Fire Extinguisher Compliance (CSACMAPFEC) is required for all residential CO applications
All fees paid and all ordinances complied with before an inspection is scheduled

The Borough code says a Certificate of Occupancy is granted or denied within ten days of the application.

Requirements

Smoke alarms on each level of the home, including basements (not attics or crawl spaces)
Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm outside each separate sleeping area, within 10 feet of bedrooms
10-year sealed battery smoke alarms, unless the home has 110 volt alarms or a low voltage fire alarm system (low voltage systems need an annual certification)
Fire extinguisher rated 2A-10B:C, no more than 10 lbs, mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen in the path of egress, tagged or newly purchased with a receipt (form still lists it)
