- Borough inspection of the home for compliance with all Borough ordinances
- Applications for sales must include a current survey of the property
- List all people who will occupy the home (each adult may need an affidavit as a member of a single family unit), school-age and pre-school children, and pets
- Certificate of Smoke Alarm, Carbon Monoxide Alarm and Portable Fire Extinguisher Compliance (CSACMAPFEC) is required for all residential CO applications
- All fees paid and all ordinances complied with before an inspection is scheduled

Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required
- Smoke alarms on each level of the home, including basements (not attics or crawl spaces)
- Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm outside each separate sleeping area, within 10 feet of bedrooms
- 10-year sealed battery smoke alarms, unless the home has 110 volt alarms or a low voltage fire alarm system (low voltage systems need an annual certification)
- Fire extinguisher rated 2A-10B:C, no more than 10 lbs, mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen in the path of egress, tagged or newly purchased with a receipt (form still lists it)
