Requirements

All detectors must be less than 10 years old
Smoke alarms on every level including the basement, and within 10 feet of sleeping room doors
Homes built before 1978: battery alarms must be 10-year sealed units or the inspection fails
Do not replace hardwired smoke alarms with battery alarms; replace bad interconnected alarms with compatible ones
Test all smoke detectors before the inspection date
CO alarm required if the home has any fuel-burning appliance or an attached garage: on each sleeping level, in hallways near bedrooms (electric or battery)
No fire extinguisher required (form says the State and the Township no longer require one)

Request received more than 10 business days before change of occupant	$35.00
Request received 4 to 10 business days before change of occupant	$70.00
Request received fewer than 4 business days before change of occupant	$125.00
