- Requirements
- Well water: passing test by an NJDEP certified lab (Private Well Testing Act), or Camden County Health Dept. letter of approval for a new well
- Septic: Camden County Health Dept. letter of compliance (no future action), or certificate of compliance for a new system
- Property must comply with all Township and State codes and ordinances (the office links the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code)
- Sidewalks and driveway aprons are the owner's responsibility and must meet Township ordinances
- All open permits closed with final inspections (for example water heater, A/C, furnace, finished basement)
- Dwelling must be fit for human habitation
- Certificate issued only when all requirements are met
- Separate fire (smoke/CO) certificate from the Winslow Township Fire District is also required

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Every smoke alarm must be less than 10 years old; take each alarm down and check the date on the back
- Battery (DC) smoke alarms must be 10-year sealed units
- Hardwired (110 volt) interconnected alarms must all sound when one is tested; AC power must be on or no inspection is done; replacing a hardwired alarm with a battery unit fails
- Smoke alarm type and number depend on the year built (for example 1991 to present: hardwired with battery backup on each level and in each bedroom, interconnected)
- CO alarm outside of but within 10 feet of all sleeping areas if there is any fuel-burning appliance, fireplace or attached garage
- Homes with a secondary power source (solar, generator, battery storage) need a permanent, not handwritten, 'Caution: Multiple Sources of Power' label at the main panel and the electric meter (ANSI Z535.4)
- Monitored low-voltage fire alarm systems must be tested and certified by an alarm contractor before the inspection; bring the certificate
- An adult (18+) must be present for the whole inspection; no lockbox entry
