Requirements
  • All construction permits must be inspected and closed before the CO is released
  • Sidewalks, driveway aprons and walkways in the public right-of-way free of trip hazards (no lifts, holes or height differences of 1/2 inch or more)
  • Sidewalk repairs completed and the Borough notified at least 7 days before title transfer, or money placed in escrow and repairs done within 30 days after closing
  • Smoke alarm on every level (10-year sealed battery if battery powered)
  • CO alarm outside the bedroom area
  • ABC portable fire extinguisher no larger than 10 lb, within 10 feet of the kitchen
  • Street number at least 4 inches, contrasting and readable from the street
  • Historic District disclosure form if the home is in the Historic District

  • All single-station battery smoke alarms must be the 10-year sealed battery type
  • Hardwired (110-volt) smoke detectors maintained per manufacturer and the code in effect at installation
  • ABC-type extinguisher, no larger than 10 lb, within 10 feet of the kitchen area
  • Street number at least 4 inches, contrasting, readable from the street
  • Form includes a check for a secondary power source
  • No inspection is scheduled until all open permits are closed
