- Borough of Audubon (requests handled by the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Public Works; interior fire inspection by the Fire Marshal, exterior inspection by the Borough)
- Requirements
- Two inspections must both pass: an interior fire inspection and an exterior property inspection
- Sidewalks, walkways, driveways, driveway aprons, steps and pavers must be free of cracks, raised or uneven surfaces, deterioration and trip hazards
- Ramping a raised sidewalk joint is not an acceptable repair
- Smoke and CO detectors must be UL listed, have a 10-year sealed battery, and be no more than 10 years old
- Hardwired smoke alarms cannot be swapped for battery units; hardwired units must be interconnected and working
- Smoke detector on every level (basement, each floor, and a finished or used attic) and in every bedroom
- Working smoke and CO detector within 10 feet of all bedrooms
- House numbers at least 4 inches tall, contrasting, visible from the street
- No double-cylinder (keyed both sides) deadbolts on exit doors; exits must open from inside without a key
- Sump pumps, roof drains and other discharges may not be connected to the sanitary sewer
- All liens and property maintenance charges resolved and all construction permits closed before the CO is issued

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke and CO alarms must be UL listed with a 10-year sealed battery and no more than 10 years old
- Hardwired smoke alarms may not be replaced with battery-only units and must be interconnected
- Smoke alarm on every level including basement and a finished or used attic, plus one in every bedroom
- Smoke and CO alarm within 10 feet of all bedrooms (combination units allowed)
- House numbers at least 4 inches tall and visible from the street
- No double-cylinder deadbolts on exit doors
- Fire inspections are Thursday mornings only; someone must be present or a lockbox code provided
