- Requirements
- Inspection for compliance with Township and State health and safety codes, fire safety (Chapter 18, Section 3) and the Land Use Regulations
- Closure of all open permits
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed (battery smoke alarms must be 10-year sealed units)
- Sidewalk and walkway condition, entrance steps with balusters and handrails, basement stairway
- Electrical hazards, grounded receptacles, relief valves on boilers and water heaters, sump pump discharge, venting of heating equipment and bathrooms
- General property maintenance and structural condition; unregistered and commercial vehicles removed
- Zoning conformance for the use of the property; work possibly done without permits is noted
- Electricity and water on for the inspection
- CCO states the maximum number of occupants

- A temporary CCO may be issued for minor violations, with repairs due within 30 days or as set by the construction official; the permanent CCO then has no added fee

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Battery smoke detectors and combination units in 1-2 family homes must be 10-year sealed battery alarms, with the manufacture date written on the outside
- Hardwired smoke detector systems may not be downgraded to battery systems
- Carbon monoxide detector in or outside the bedroom area, no more than 10 feet from any bedroom; battery or plug-in units are acceptable
