Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- House number at least three inch numerals next to the front door, five feet above the door saddle, contrasting and visible (Ordinance 88-23)
- At least one smoke detector on each level including basements (unless the original CO required more); replacement battery units must be 10 year sealed UL approved
- Smoke detector in the bedroom area within 10 feet of the bedrooms; hardwired/interconnected units must work and be under 10 years old
- Active monitored fire alarm systems need paperwork from the alarm company before the inspection
- Carbon monoxide alarm on each level with bedrooms, within 10 feet of the bedrooms, in homes with fuel-burning appliances or attached garages
- Chimneys and smoke pipes properly sealed
- No open permits with the Construction Department
- Fire extinguisher (Township page and code still list it)
