- Requirements
- Records inspection only: the Construction Official certifies there are no open permits or pending violations on the property
- Any open permits must get all final inspections and approvals, and the matching construction code certificates, before the CRC is issued
- Exempt transfers (if no change in physical occupancy): deed corrections, ancient deeds, transfers between spouses or former spouses under a court order, new construction needing a CO, estate distributions, refinancing and home equity loans, and transfers by or to a receiver, bankruptcy trustee or assignee for creditors

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke detectors on each level of the home
- Battery-only smoke detectors must have a 10-year sealed lithium battery; the form asks whether they are hardwired with battery backup
- Carbon monoxide alarm on the level(s) with bedrooms, within 10 feet of the bedrooms; combination smoke/CO or plug-in units allowed
- Any alarm system must be in working order; if monitored, notify the alarm company so it can be put on test mode on inspection day
- Street number clearly displayed for first responders
- Form title still lists fire extinguisher compliance (form still lists it), although no extinguisher item appears in its checklist
