- Requirements
- Compliance with Borough zoning, the well certification ordinance and the Property Maintenance chapter
- Defects affecting habitability must be corrected before the transfer of title
- No open permits; violations need permits before a re-inspection
- Application lists bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, outbuildings, sewer/water/private well and finished or unfinished basement
- Well certification for private wells used for non-potable water or irrigation
- Owner certifies no improvements were installed without approved permits
- Payment by cash or check only, no credit cards

- Apply at least 30 days before the transfer of title. Applications within 7 business days of closing pay an extra $100 expediting fee.

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke detector on each level, including basements (not attics or crawl spaces)
- Smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm outside each separate sleeping area, within 10 feet of bedrooms
- All smoke detectors and CO alarms in working order; battery units allowed and interconnection not required (AC or interconnected alarms in homes built after January 1977 must be kept working)
- Fire extinguisher of the correct size, mounted, within 10 feet of the kitchen (form still lists it)
- Owner or authorized representative does the inspection and signs a notarized certification in lieu of inspection
