- Smoke alarms in each bedroom, on each level and within 10 feet of all bedrooms; CO alarm on each sleeping floor and near any major gas appliance
- If smoke detectors are monitored, a certificate from the alarm company
- Dryer vented to the exterior
- Electric on and appliances working
- Two outlets in each bedroom; bathroom outlet plus a fan or exhaust window
- Water heater pressure relief valve discharge checked
- Blanks in the electric panel
- Unit clean: no mold in tub, clean rugs, no chipping paint

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke alarms: one in each bedroom, one on each level, and one within 10 feet of all bedrooms (battery or hardwired accepted)
- Carbon monoxide alarm on each sleeping floor and near any major gas burning appliance, per the manufacturer's instructions
- Portable fire extinguisher, required for sales only: ABC type, no larger than 10 pounds, mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen, gauge in the green (City letter, 2008 scan, and current FAQ)
