Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- State online self-certification, now named the Certificate of Smoke Alarm, Carbon Monoxide Alarm, and Secondary Power Source Identification Label Compliance (CSACMASPSIL): smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and the secondary power source label for homes with solar, generators or batteries. The certificate name no longer includes the fire extinguisher, although the portal's checklist notice still refers to detectors and fire extinguishers
- The Township's information sheet (revised 08/26/26) still describes the extinguisher rule: minimum 2A:10B:C, no more than 10 pounds, within 10 feet of the kitchen stove in the exit path, top no more than 5 feet above the floor on the manufacturer's bracket, serviced and tagged by a DFS-certified contractor within 12 months or a recent purchase receipt
