- Requirements
- Sidewalks, curbs and driveway apron in need of replacement must be replaced (Engineering permit)
- Permanent house number at least 3 inches high, visible from the street
- Roof, fencing, entrance steps, porches and railings in good repair; clear sightline within 10 feet of the curb
- 48-inch pool fence with self-closing, latching gates
- Property cleared of trash, debris and hazardous materials; recreational vehicles or trailers removed or garaged; shrubs and lawn trimmed
- Code compliant smoke detectors near each bedroom door and on each level including the basement; sealed 10-year smoke detectors since January 2019
- Mounted 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher within 10 feet of the kitchen, no more than 5 feet above the floor (still on the September 2025 checklist)
- Sump pump discharge removed from the sanitary sewer and routed outside
- Flue pipes and chimney connections at furnace and water heater sound; water heater and boiler relief valve discharge pipe to within 6 inches of the floor
- Handrails 34 to 38 inches high on at least one side of stairs; guardrails on open sides
- Working plumbing fixtures, switches and outlets with cover plates; no interior key locks on rooms
- Only one kitchen per dwelling; work done without permits must be permitted; zoning violations corrected

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Sealed unit 10-year smoke detectors in all required locations for any residential ZCO for sale or rental since 2019, even if the home has working battery detectors (no change for hardwired AC-powered detectors)
- Smoke detectors near each bedroom door and on each level including the basement, not in an unheated attic
- Mounted 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher within 10 feet of the kitchen, no more than 5 feet above the floor (September 2025 checklist)
