- Requirements
- All open construction permits closed and any Construction Code Official violation notice fully resolved
- Compliance with the Borough Property Maintenance Code (Chapter 19) and Fire Prevention and Protection chapter (Chapter 22)
- Compliance with the Borough lead-based paint inspection and rental housing sections where they apply to the building
- Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm certificate from the Fire Prevention Official
- Sump pumps must discharge outside the home or into the street gutter line, never into the sanitary sewer
- House numbers clearly visible from the street, at least 4 inches high, block numbers (no script), on a contrasting background
- A temporary resale certificate (up to 90 days) is possible when the buyer signs an affidavit agreeing to fix listed deficiencies

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Ten-year sealed battery or hardwired interconnected smoke alarms on each level and in the bedroom area, including basements and finished attics
- CO detection outside all sleeping areas; with any fuel-burning appliance, also on the floor below, the floor where the appliance is, and the floor above
- Fire extinguisher still listed on the Borough's May 2026 requirements sheet: at least one 2A:10BC, no more than 10 pounds, visible within 10 feet of the kitchen near an exit path, mounted no more than 5 feet off the floor, not in a cabinet or behind a closed door
