Requirements
  • Smoke detector on each level of the home
  • Smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm outside each sleeping area, within 10 feet
  • All smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms in working order
  • Battery powered detectors and alarms must have 10 year sealed batteries
  • 2A:10BC fire extinguisher mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen (form dated March 2020, before the 2025 state change)
  • All utilities working: HVAC, water heater, furnace, electric, water and sewer
  • No work done that needed a construction (UCC) or zoning permit without one, and no open permits
  • Exterior of the house not in disrepair
  • Grounds trimmed and free of debris
  • Concrete, asphalt and masonry not in disrepair, with no tripping hazards
  • List the names and ages of all occupants on the application
  • Owner signs a notarized certification on the Addendum
