- Requirements
- All utilities (gas, water, electric) must be on at the time of inspection
- Gutters, downspouts, sidewalk, driveway, apron, stairs, chimney and siding in good condition
- Screens on windows and doors of habitable rooms; all windows operable, no broken or cracked glass
- Guardrails and graspable handrails on stairs with 4 or more risers or more than 30 inches high
- House number at least 3 inches high on the house or mailbox
- Tree limbs off the house; trees and shrubs cut back 12 inches from the house
- Driveway must be paved or another hard surface (no stone or gravel)
- GFCI outlets outdoors, in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry areas, garages, unfinished basements and within 6 feet of any sink
- At least 2 outlets per habitable room; working lights in halls, stairs, baths, laundry and furnace rooms
- No plumbing leaks; flexible drain piping must be replaced; water heater relief valve with extension within 6 inches of the floor
- Gas shut-off valve behind gas stove and dryer; stove anti-tip bracket
- Bath ventilation (window or fan); safety glazing on windows in tub or shower areas
- Solid core or steel 20-minute rated door between garage and house
- Smoke and CO alarms within 10 feet of sleeping areas and on every level including the basement; 10-year sealed battery alarms; hardwired alarms under 10 years old
- Licensed-professional letters for the heating unit and fireplace, plus septic and well water test results if applicable; any work done without a required permit must be permitted and all permits closed

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Township MCCC checklist: battery smoke alarms must be the sealed 10-year battery type; hardwired (110v) smoke alarms must be less than 10 years old and must not be replaced with battery alarms
- Township MCCC checklist: smoke and CO alarms within 10 feet of each sleeping area and on each level of possible living space, including the basement even if unfinished (not attic or crawl space)
