Certificate of Occupancy (Residential Certificate of Continued Occupancy) · Department of Code Enforcement (Building, Construction and Land Use Department)
- Smoke detector on each level of the home
- Smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm outside each sleeping area, within 10 feet
- All smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms in working order
- Battery powered detectors and alarms must have 10 year sealed batteries
- 2A:10BC fire extinguisher mounted within 10 feet of the kitchen (form dated March 2020, before the 2025 state change)
- All utilities working: HVAC, water heater, furnace, electric, water and sewer
- No work done that needed a construction (UCC) or zoning permit without one, and no open permits
- Exterior of the house not in disrepair
- Grounds trimmed and free of debris
- Concrete, asphalt and masonry not in disrepair, with no tripping hazards
- List the names and ages of all occupants on the application
- Owner signs a notarized certification on the Addendum
