- Requirements
- Smoke detectors in each bedroom, within 10 feet of bedroom areas and at least one per level including the basement and walk-up attic; battery units must be 10-year sealed
- CO detectors within 10 feet of bedroom areas and kitchens, at least one per level including basements and walk-up attics
- Fire extinguisher rated 2A:10BC, no more than 10 pounds, visibly mounted in the kitchen or within 10 feet of it toward an exit
- 911 post (4 x 4 inch, 6 feet, 2 feet in the ground) at the driveway entrance with 4-inch reflective numbers on each side
- Tree limbs cut back at least 10 feet from the roof line
- Handrails on stairways and stoops with 3 or more steps; guardrails on porches, decks and raised floors 30 inches or higher, spindles no more than 4 inches apart
- No broken windows or doors, no holes in walls, no exterior damage or leaking roof
- Switch plates and outlet covers in place, GFI outlets within 3 feet of kitchen and bathroom sinks, no bare wires, secure covered breaker panel
- Working range with anti-tip device and other appliances working
- Hot and cold running water without leaks, flushing toilets and working heat
- Bathroom window or exhaust fan vented outside; water heater relief valve extension within 6 inches of the floor
- Electric service wire and meter sound; no double-cylinder deadbolts on exterior doors
- All code violations abated and all open construction, electrical, plumbing or fire permits closed
- No rubbish or debris inside or out; all utilities on at the inspection
- No more than 2 occupants per bedroom

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Township CCO smoke sheet (effective January 1, 2019): battery smoke detectors must be 10-year sealed battery units
- Smoke detectors in each bedroom as well as on each level (Township CCO list)
- CO detectors within 10 feet of bedroom areas and kitchens, one per level (Township CCO list)
- Township CCO list still asks for a 2A:10BC fire extinguisher, no more than 10 pounds, mounted in or within 10 feet of the kitchen
