Required- Certificate
- Continuing Certificate of Occupancy (CCO), which includes the smoke/CO/secondary power inspection; plus a Construction Records Clearance (CRC)

- Requirements
- CCO inspection: property fit for habitation and in line with Borough ordinances and state safety, health, maintenance and building codes
- Smoke alarms (UL listed, under 10 years old, per the code when built, NFPA 72), carbon monoxide alarms (UL 2034) and a secondary power source label if the home has one, checked as part of the CCO
- Corrections followed by a reinspection ($50); a new owner may get a CCO with an approved written repair plan
- Construction Records Clearance: records check for open construction permits; open permits need final inspections and certificates first

- The CCO Officer inspects within 10 working days of a complete application and fee, and issues the CCO (or a written violation list) within three working days after. The CRC application and fee are due at least 25 business days before the change of ownership.

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke detectors UL listed, no older than 10 years, meeting the code in force when the home was built, installed and maintained per NFPA 72, not recalled
- Carbon monoxide alarms listed to UL 2034, installed per the Uniform Fire Code and NFPA 720
- Secondary power source label (ANSI Z535.4) within 18 inches of the main electrical panel and meter, if the home has a generator, solar or battery system
- No portable fire extinguisher listed in the June 2026 Article III (the 2024 fee section title still mentions one)
