- Requirements
- Records review for open construction permits (office checks open permits before issuing the Certificate of Records Clearance)
- Application asks whether there is a swimming pool and a pool barrier
- Application asks whether a water heater, HVAC, woodstove or fireplace insert was installed or replaced
- Application asks whether a deck, hot tub, shed or outbuilding, or finished basement was built
- Application asks whether the smoke, carbon monoxide and fire extinguisher application has been filed

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke alarm on each level of the home and outside each separate sleeping area
- Battery-only smoke alarms must be 10-year sealed battery units; hardwired alarms from original construction may not be replaced with battery alarms
- Carbon monoxide alarm in the immediate vicinity of the sleeping areas (where there is a fuel-burning appliance or attached garage)
- Portable ABC fire extinguisher within 10 feet of the kitchen along the exit path, no more than 10 pounds, mounted no higher than 5 feet, with a service tag within 1 year or new (form still lists it)
