- Carbon monoxide alarm within 10 feet of each sleeping room
- Attic and basement may not be used as sleeping rooms or separate dwelling units unless noted on the certificate
- In-person appointment inspection (remote or picture inspections ended July 1, 2022)

- Portable fire extinguisher no longer required as of February 15, 2025 (per the Fire Prevention page)
