10-year sealed lithium battery smoke detectors in each room, including the utility room and attic (not in kitchens or bathrooms)
Carbon monoxide detector where the property has gas service, mounted between sleeping areas
In pre-existing homes, a mounted 1A:10B-C 5 lb fire extinguisher in the kitchen, 4 feet from the floor and within 10 feet of the stove (Borough form dated 10/2020; state law P.L.2025, c.19 later removed the extinguisher from the state requirement)
The office checks for outstanding construction permits and whether the home was substantially damaged
Final readings on all utility bills before closing
