Title Transfer inspection (Title Transfer Application) · Seaside Heights Code Enforcement / Housing Department
- Visual inspection only; it does not include plumbing, heating or electrical inspections
- 10-year sealed lithium battery smoke detectors in each room, including the utility room and attic (not in kitchens or bathrooms)
- Carbon monoxide detector where the property has gas service, mounted between sleeping areas
- In pre-existing homes, a mounted 1A:10B-C 5 lb fire extinguisher in the kitchen, 4 feet from the floor and within 10 feet of the stove (Borough form dated 10/2020; state law P.L.2025, c.19 later removed the extinguisher from the state requirement)
- The office checks for outstanding construction permits and whether the home was substantially damaged
- Final readings on all utility bills before closing
