- Requirements
- Inspection by the Fire Marshal or designee for compliance with Borough regulations, including Property Maintenance (Chapter 17), and construction and fire codes
- Application pages 1 and 2 complete for every unit in the building on a sale (buyer name and contact, property type, bedrooms, baths, occupants)
- Smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and fire extinguisher compliance (the certificate name still includes a fire extinguisher)
- Hot water heater must be grounded (re-sales)
- House address must be on the front of the house and visible from the road (re-sales)
- Affidavits are no longer accepted

Smoke and CO alarm certificate
Required- Requirements
- Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms per the Uniform Fire Code (checklist on pages 3 and 4 of the Borough application, which are images)
- Fire extinguisher (still in the certificate name and ordinance; the state dropped it from the sale certificate in February 2025)
- Hot water heater grounded and address visible from the road (Borough re-sale items checked at the same inspection)
