- Requirements
- Certificate of Habitability inspection before closing; no new owner may occupy until it is issued
- Smoke detector on each floor, including the basement
- At least one carbon monoxide detector outside a bedroom
- ABC type fire extinguisher no larger than 10 lbs within 10 feet of the kitchen area (form still lists it)
- All partitions put up by the current or a past owner must be removed before the certificate is issued
- Condominiums must provide a copy of the listing showing the number of bedrooms
- Application lists property location, block and lot, number of bedrooms, owner, agent, buyer's name and address, and tentative closing date

- The Code says the inspection is made no more than 20 days after the application is received. Inspections are by appointment on Wednesday evenings (5 to 7 pm) and Saturday mornings (9 am to 12 noon).
