Certificate of Inspection Permitting Occupancy (Sale Certificate of Occupancy) · Borough of Spring Lake Code Enforcement Officer

• Inspection by the Code Enforcement Officer before transfer of title or occupancy; title may transfer first, but no occupancy until all items marked for correction are completed
• Application lists the seller, buyer and new occupants and the number of persons who will occupy the home; each adult occupant signs an affidavit
• Sale and rental checklist: fire extinguisher (2A:10B:C within 10 feet of the kitchen, checklist still lists it), smoke and CO detectors in the basement and on every floor near bedrooms, house number at least 3 inches visible from the street
• Utilities on; appliances and bathroom fixtures clean and working; walls and trim repaired and painted; windows operable with locks and screens; keyless interior deadbolts; handrails on stairs with 2 or more risers
• Sump pumps may not discharge into the sewer system
• Sidewalks in good repair with no trip hazards; exterior clean and safe; proper garbage containers stored at the side or rear
• Home must comply with all other Borough ordinances
