  • Foundation, roof, walls, windows and doors in good repair, no leaks or chronic dampness
  • Stairs, porches and balconies safe, with railings
  • No rodents or insects; window screens from May 1 to October 1
  • Yard free of trash; lawn, hedges and bushes trimmed; fences in good repair
  • Interior paint and wall coverings in good condition
  • Smoke detector on each level and in each bedroom; CO detector within 10 feet of sleeping areas
  • ABC fire extinguisher (2A:10B:C) mounted in or within 10 feet of the kitchen on the way to an exit
