- House numbers visible from the street
- Fences, decks, sheds and accessory structures must have proper permits
- Sidewalks and driveways level and free of trip hazards
- Smoke alarm on each level including basement; 10-year sealed lithium battery type
- CO detector within 10 feet of sleeping areas (plug-in or battery OK)
- 2A:10BC fire extinguisher in a cabinet or on a hanger within 10 feet of the kitchen
- Handrail on stairs with more than 4 risers; guards on surfaces more than 30 inches above grade
- Exterior surfaces painted or protected and in good repair
- Yard free of excess weeds, rubbish and garbage
- Accessory structures (garages, fences, walls) sound and in good repair
- Pools clean; pools over 24 inches deep fenced at least 48 inches with self-closing, self-latching gates
