Certificate of Continued Occupancy - Residential (Certificate of Zoning, Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide, Fire Extinguisher Compliance) · Borough of Wood-Ridge Zoning Official and Fire Prevention Official (one combined application)

• No open permits; owner certifies permits were issued for all alterations
• Room inventory by floor, which the Zoning Officer compares with tax records, permits and variances
• Smoke detector on each floor including the basement (and finished attic), within 10 feet of each bedroom, attached with screws
• Carbon monoxide detector within 10 feet of each bedroom
• ABC fire extinguisher (at least 2A:10B:C, no more than 10 lbs) in or within 10 feet of the kitchen (form still lists it)
• Certification of Payment of Taxes signed by the Wood-Ridge Tax Collector
• Payment by cash or check to the Borough of Wood-Ridge; credit cards not accepted

Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required

• Smoke detector on each floor including the basement (and finished attic), within 10 feet of each bedroom on that floor

• Detectors attached to the ceiling or wall with screws; double-sided tape is not acceptable
• ABC fire extinguisher at least 2A:10B:C, no more than 10 lbs, in or within 10 feet of the kitchen (form still lists it)
