Certificate of Occupancy Required
Construction Records Clearance Certificate (CRC), Residential (in lieu of a Certificate of Occupancy) · Township of Harding Construction Department
- Application with the real estate listing (or a detailed property description for a private sale)
- Answers about address display, swimming pool and pool barrier, finished basement, second kitchen and accessory dwellings
- Township checks for open permits, open zoning matters, health approval and zoning approval
- Well Test Sign Off Sheet if the property has a private well
- Closing date is required on the application

Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required
- Smoke detector on each level including basements (not attic or crawl space), and outside each separate sleeping area within 10 feet of bedrooms
- Carbon monoxide alarm outside each separate sleeping area
- All alarms in working order; AC powered or interconnected alarms in homes built after January 1977 must be kept working
- Fire extinguisher (still on the older DCA form; dropped from the state requirement in February 2025 by P.L.2025, c.19)
