Resale Certificate of Continued Occupancy (Resale-CCO), including the smoke and CO certificate · Borough of Matawan Fire Prevention Bureau

  • Resale-CCO inspection by the Fire Prevention Bureau, which includes the Certificate of Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector Compliance
  • All buildings and items (boilers, hot water heaters, etc.) must have the proper construction permits on record; missing permits must be taken out and inspected before the CCO is issued
  • Email the completed application with the MLS sheet and the realtor's business card, plus a requested inspection date from the Fire Official's calendar
  • Closing attorneys must confirm the closing within 5 days of closing
  • A temporary CCO (TCCO) is only for unoccupied properties that meet the smoke alarm rules, at the Fire Official's discretion
