- Home must meet the New Jersey State Housing Code (City Code 55-12)
- Hard-wired, interconnected smoke detectors with battery backup on or near the ceiling of each level, certified by the Fire Official
- Battery smoke detectors in each bedroom or sleeping area
- All utilities must be on for the inspection
- Warrant waiver from the Gloucester City Municipal Court (313 Monmouth St) showing no outstanding warrants for the buyer, owner and proposed occupants
- Proof of identity for buyer and tenants; for an LLC, partnership or corporation, the record owner's name, address and phone
- All outstanding Housing Office fees on the property (including vacant/abandoned property fees) must be paid first
- Violations must be fixed and reinspected within 90 days of the first report (one extension to 120 days if asked in time), or a new application and fee are needed
