Certificate of Occupancy Required
Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO), Resale/Rental Inspection · Eastampton Township Resale/Rental Inspections office
- House numbers: numerals at least 4 inches high, contrasting color, fixed to the house and visible from the street (mailbox or lamp post numbers not accepted)
- Smoke alarm on every level, including the bottom of the basement stairs at the ceiling
- Smoke alarm within 10 feet of all bedroom doors and one on the ceiling of every bedroom
- Hardwired smoke alarms cannot be replaced with battery alarms
- Smoke alarms under 10 years old and working; battery alarms must be 10-year sealed type
- CO alarm in the hallway within 10 feet of all bedrooms, under 10 years old and working
- Fire extinguisher (2019 checklist): 2A-10B:C, under 10 pounds, mounted on its bracket within 10 feet of the kitchen in the path of exit
- Homes with a monitored low-voltage fire alarm system need a test certificate from an alarm contractor at the inspection
- Owner certifies all structures meet zoning and no rubbish, debris or bulk trash is left before the new occupant moves in

Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required
- The Township's CCO inspection checklist (November 2019) covers smoke alarms, CO alarms and a mounted 2A-10B:C fire extinguisher within 10 feet of the kitchen, so these are checked at the resale inspection
- Smoke and CO alarms must be under 10 years old; battery smoke alarms must be 10-year sealed type
