Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required
- Older homes need 10-year sealed battery smoke alarms (or AC powered alarms) on each level and outside sleeping areas
- Homes built with hardwired, battery backup, interconnected alarms (for example Summer Hill, Forest Hill, Waters Edge, The Grande, the Orchard) must keep them on each level and in each bedroom, and they must be less than 10 years old
- Carbon monoxide detectors must be less than 5 years old (check the manufacture or replace-by date) and installed outside each sleeping area
- All smoke and CO detectors must be UL listed
- House number: Arabic numerals, contrasting color, at least 3 inches tall, at least 30 inches above ground, visible from the street (Township Code Chapter 95)
- The current form (February 2025) does not list a portable fire extinguisher
