Certificate of Occupancy Required
Residential Resale Certificate / Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO), issued as a Certificate of Zoning Compliance · Borough of Norwood Construction Office (Construction Code Official / Zoning Officer)
- Inspection showing no zoning infractions and compliance with the Zoning Ordinance for continued occupancy
- General inspection of the visible parts of the building for imminent hazards
- Existing property inventory (basement, first floor, second floor, other)
- Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector compliance certified on the same form
- Smoke detectors on each level including the basement, in each bedroom and outside the bedrooms; 10-year sealed battery or interconnected system
- Carbon monoxide detectors outside the bedroom doors (battery, plug-in or combination)

Smoke and CO alarm certificate Required
- Smoke detectors on each level including the basement, in each bedroom, and outside and near all bedroom doors (the form says within 10 feet; the checklist says within 21 feet)
- Smoke detectors must be 10-year sealed battery or an interconnected system; not in the attic, crawl spaces or immediate kitchen area
- Carbon monoxide detectors outside and near all bedroom doors; battery, plug-in or combination smoke/CO type
